🏁 #OCX26 keynote announcement! 🏎 Formula 1 is a world where performance is measured in milliseconds, and decisions are made under extreme pressure. Behind the drivers and the speed lies strategy, data, and collaboration at scale. At OCX, we’re excited to welcome Ruth Buscombe as a keynote speaker. Ruth is a Formula 1 race strategist, analyst, and broadcaster who has worked with teams including Ferrari, Sauber, and Haas, shaping race-winning strategies for drivers such as Kimi Räikkönen, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, and Charles Leclerc. In 2024, she also consulted on the Formula 1 movie co-produced by Lewis Hamilton. Ruth will take the OCX audience inside high-pressure environments and explore what Formula 1 can teach open, distributed teams about communication, marginal gains, and data-driven decision-making, as well as how to embrace change and take controlled risks.

💬 Last week, we gathered in Brussels for the Code & Compliance Community Day. The event brought together maintainers, open source leaders, and stakeholders for two days of collaboration and discussion on the EU’s Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). It explored how it’s unfolding in practice, what it means for open source software, and how our community is responding. A huge thank-you to everyone who joined us for the conversations, workshops, and networking sessions.

Not only did we have the chance to discuss open source AI, but we also enjoyed plenty of networking opportunities with the fantastic community that gathered at the event. And the cherry on top? A beautiful cruise along the Seine! 😍

Key highlights included: 💡 Detailed information about the Eclipse Cloud Interest Group. 🗯️ Alignment with the participants on the audience on key pillars, with clear takeaways: we are not pursuing just interoperability but versatility, and we go beyond digital sovereignty towards strategic autonomy for Cloud. 🌟 Focus on projects that contribute to this vision, like Xpanse, Biscuit, Conformity Assessment and Credential Profile, and XCP-ng. 🤝 Dialogue on fostering collaboration and creating cloud solutions aligned with European values of privacy, security, and fairness.
