How Vertical Media Destroyed our Attention Span
And we didn’t even realize that
Few years back , It felt awkward to me when I looked at some of the videos on instagram and I could not stand the fact that instead of watching a video in a landscape mode , I need to watch this in vertical mode. Later this started seeping in to the life of all of us and slowly the vertical media became the standard of social media in the form of reels and posts and shorts and what not.
The Genesis
While the instagram adopted this life changing vertical media innovation , Youtube launches shorts and this is so evident that these platforms are just only profit making enterprises and trying to skim the milk early from the market. While the vertical media is becoming the norm of the social expression on various platform we have failed to realize that this has completely crippled our attention span. Its hard to find videos with cinematic mode or landscape wide mode, we don’t have time for that we just want to scroll and scroll and scroll, I have seen people scrolling other device while they are scrolling one device. Let’s see what has happened to us as a society.
