For the Summer Games, athletes representing the 'Czech Republic', at that time, first competed at the Games of the XXVI Olympiad Atlanta 1996, taking part in the sports or disciplines of artistic gymnasts, athletics, beach volleyball, boxing, canoe slalom, canoe sprint, mountain bike cycling, road cycling, track cycling, fencing, judo, rhythmic gymnastics, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, tennis, weightlifting and wrestling. At the Games of the XXVI Olympiad Atlanta 1996 Miroslav Janus became the first athlete representing 'Czech Republic', at that time, to win an Olympic Summer Games medal of any colour, capturing bronze in the men’s shooting running target 10m event. At the same Games edition, Stepanka Hilgertova became the first athlete representing 'Czech Republic', at that time, to win an Olympic Summer Games gold medal, competing in the women’s canoe slalom kayak singles slalom event. For the Winter Games, athletes representing the 'Czech Republic', at that time, first competed at the XVII Olympic Winter Games Lillehammer 1994, taking part in the disciplines of biathlon, bobsleigh, cross-country skiing, figure skating, ice hockey, Nordic combined and ski jumping. At the XVIII Olympiad Winter Games Nagano 1998, Katerina Neumannova became the first athlete representing 'Czech Republic', at that time, to win an Olympic Winter Games medal of any colour, capturing silver in the women’s cross-country skiing 5km classical event. At the same Games edition, athletes representing 'Czech Republic', at that time, won a first Olympic Games gold medal, competing in the men’s ice hockey event.

At Beijing 2022, Czechia took home one gold and one silver, its lowest ever medal tally at a Winter Games. The NOC's gold medal in 2022 was won by Ester Ledecka, who successfully defended her PyeongChang 2018 women's snowboard parallel giant slalom title in Beijing. Ledecka also won an Alpine skiing women's super-G gold medal at PyeongChang 2018, but was unsuccessful in defending that title, finishing fifth in super-G and fourth in Alpine combined in Beijing. Czechia's only other medal at the 2022 Games was won by speed skater Martina Sablikova, who claimed bronze in the women's 5000m event at her fifth Winter Games. Czechia's youngest participant in Beijing was 15-year-old ski jumper Anezka Indrackova, who finished 30th in the women's individual normal hill event, and was the youngest athlete to represent any NOC in Beijing.
