Takedown Instructions
Are you the author for content which was submitted to our site without permission and wish to request a takedown? On RHDI, we have policies, procedures, and expected etiquette for users who wish to proceed with the process. Following the "do"s and not doing the "don't"s will ensure your takedown is successfully processed.
Proper Methods and Etiquette for Takedown Requests
There are two avenues to issue a takedown request:
Clicking the red "Delete" button on this page to requesting deletion (account creation is mandatory) (this will effectively delete the page)
Provide URL(s) of all the content in question.
Provide the reason for why you want the content removed.
Please provide any proof that you are the person you are representing. Staff may perform a background check during the process or ask for further information.
Provide the method for which you want to issue a takedown (merely asking for removal is too ambiguous, and such requests will be ignored):
Remove file hosting, add an external link pointing to your own personal website, and have a takedown notice.
Remove file hosting, remove external links, and have a takedown notice. Rendering the page essentially as a placeholder.
Remove file hosting, remove all page content, and indicate a takedown notice in the content history.
Unacceptable Methods and Etiquette for Takedown Requests
Requesting a takedown on public social media platform. Staff do not monitor social media for takedown requests, and these platforms tend to have significant character limitations which are detrimental to communication. These include but not limited to:
Discord
Twitter
Bluesky
Issuing takedown requests on private communication channels not tied to the site, including but not limited to:
Email
Private message / direct messages on social media.
Asking for the content to be removed without context. Help us understand the context and what your concerns are.
Taking the takedown request to social media as a perceived method of speeding up the process.
Requesting a takedown on a communication channel and immediately cutting contact. Allow an open communication channel for staff members to ask questions.
Publicly performing defamation and slander against the site.
Issuing a takedown request for content which you did not produce or on someone else's behalf (unless you are a designated representative for the project).
