The reason why most societies see under 18 marriage as bad nowadays (and rightfully so) is because childhood lasts longer now. education and school is longer, people under 18 cant vote etc etc. its slower to mature.

In Islam, the age of consent is puberty AND sound judgement, (rushd) and evolves according to your era and place, not just one singular age that should be set for all of eternity, for all places globally no matter what.
