If they were to confront it they would feel uncomfortable with themselves because deep down they are uncomfortable with the idea of any group of people being destroyed. If this is ever brought up in debates around immigration (and it seldom does because (((they))) want to avoid it) people literally do not have an answer and will try to avoid the topic as much as possible.
