Why does global stability feel more fragile than ever? Today’s guest believes it’s because power and incentives matter more than rules or values. Konstantin Kisin, welcome back to The Diary Of A CEO. Konstantin is a political commentator and the co-host of Triggernometry, a podcast with over 1.6M subscribers, where he discusses culture and geopolitics. His commentary is known to split people's opinions because he’s willing to say things many people avoid. Konstantin grew up in the Soviet Union and later moved to the UK, which gives him a first-hand understanding of what happens when speech is controlled and ideas are policed. He uses that perspective to question how easily those dynamics can reappear in more subtle forms. It’s shaped how he thinks about free expression and power in modern dynamics. Global decisions made by politicians are affecting everyday lives. From rising energy prices to AI taking more and more jobs - it’s becoming harder to ignore that the assumptions we make about stability are much weaker than we like to admit. Konstantin broke down why systems don’t hold together because of good intentions, but because it’s far more expensive to break them. Rules only matter until they go against self-interests - and that’s why he believes stability depends less on ideals and much more on consequences. We cover: - What makes institutions lose public trust? - What actually prevents countries from going to war? - How do nuclear weapons change global decision-making? - Why do countries collapse long after the warning signs are so obvious? I gave Konstantin the floor to speak openly about where he thinks pressure is actually building and what that means for everyday life. He was able to give a unique view as someone who’s lived through instability before and recognises the early signs of it returning. If you want to understand what is shaping the world right now and why so much feels uncertain, this episode is for you.

“They can see all of your messages” That’s not a conspiracy theory, It’s something today’s guest says from experience… John Kiriakou is a former CIA officer who spent 15 years inside the agency, including as Chief of Counter-Terrorism Operations in Pakistan after 9/11. He later became the first CIA officer to publicly confirm the existence of the CIA’s torture program - a decision that cost him his freedom. John didn’t hold back when he described a world he lived inside, how intelligence agencies recruit, surveil, manipulate, and protect power - and what really happens when someone breaks the rules to tell the truth! I wanted to understand what actually happens behind the scenes in systems we’re told that are there to protect us, and how different that reality can be from what most people assume. John explained to me why nothing you do on your phone is truly private and how metadata is bought and sold which had me mind-blown. I wanted to find out: - What really makes someone betray secrets? - Why do money, fear, love, and resentment drive decisions more than ideology? - How do intelligence agencies shape media narratives and public perception? - What does whistleblowing cost when you challenge powerful institutions? - Has modern technology quietly erased the idea of personal privacy? As the conversation unfolded it was clear this wasn’t just a discussion about the CIA - it was a wider reflection on how fragile our assumptions about safety and control really are. The systems most people trust to protect them are far more complex than we’re often led to believe. There’s also a moment where John explains how agencies think about ordinary people, not as individuals, but as data points. That part of the conversation will rewire how you look at your phone and even your everyday online behaviour. I thanked John for coming on and for being willing to speak so openly about experiences that most people never get to hear about. Let me know your thoughts once watching.

Behind The Diary gang! We’re back with a brand new vlog. For years, I didn’t realise why my companies succeeded. Why I wasn’t lonely anymore. Or why I was finally surrounded by people who energised me. But now I know. It’s because I’ve become obsessed with one principle: collecting people. In this episode, I take you behind the wild story of how I convinced one of the most impressive people I’d ever met - a complete stranger named Georgia - to fly to Bali, leave her startup, and join me full-time. Most people think change comes from motivation… Today’s guest has helped over 50 million people overcome their limiting beliefs, and he believes it comes from understanding the forces shaping your decisions when no one is watching. Tony Robbins, welcome to The Diary Of A CEO. When I first started talking to Tony, what surprised me most wasn’t his success - it was where he came from. Before the businesses, before the influence, before the public image people recognise today, Tony grew up in a household full of violence and instability, and an abusive mother. And as the conversation began, I found myself wanting to understand how someone can come from that kind of starting point and still build a life with so much direction and steadiness. That curiosity shaped this conversation. Not how to be successful, but how people become who they are when their early circumstances don’t appear to set them up. Tony has always been driven by a desire to change how people feel in the moment, from making cookies at Easter just to see people light up, to spending decades working with people at every level, from individuals trying to get unstuck to leaders operating under intense pressure. In this conversation, I asked: - How do people rebuild trust in themselves after failure? - What happens when success outpaces emotional maturity? - What actually drives our decisions under pressure? - How do you take responsibility without burning out? - How do early emotional patterns shape adult behaviour? There’s a moment in this conversation where I bring out a letter from Marc Benioff, founder of Salesforce, ****and read it to Tony. As I read it, the emotions from the letter caught him off guard - it’s one of those moments where Tony saw the impact of his work and how much he changed Marc’s life. You don’t spend decades doing this kind of work, reaching people at that depth, unless there’s something real behind it. And what stood out to me wasn’t ego or performance, but how grounded he is in responsibility and service. There’s no sense that this is theoretical for him. The way Tony talks about responsibility comes from lived experience, built up over decades of doing the work. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this one, let me know them after you’re finished watching.

Buying a house is supposed to be the smart move… But what if it’s quietly holding you back? Today I’m joined by JL Collins to help answer that question. He’s one of the most influential voices in personal finance, and the author of ‘The Simple Path to Wealth’ JL has given millions a new approach to money and investing. He breaks down finance concepts with first principles, sharing that sometimes doing less can be the answer. We speak about the lifestyle traps people fall into without realising it. The pressure to buy a house because it’s what you’re “meant” to do. The belief that investing has to be complicated, and the anxiety that stops people from staying patient long enough for time to become their biggest advantage! We unpack: - How most bad money decisions are driven by fear - The truth about financial independence… - The real path to long-term financial freedom - How doing less can be the way to go further! - The moment when buying a house does make sense I appreciated how calm and accessible JL’s approach to money is. He explains things clearly and patiently, in a way that makes long-term goals feel possible instead of overwhelming. That’s why his work has reached so many people, and why it continues to resonate with people who want less stress and more clarity when it comes to their finances.

One of the things that I’ve identified that is front of mind for a lot of my listeners is their relationship with sugar and carbs. And especially, this time of year when everyone is looking for a fresh start and a change to reset. So I thought, what a better time to get today’s guest Dr Benjamin Bikman back on the show for an informative conversation to do exactly this. This is Dr Benjamin’s speciality who returns for his second time on The Diary Of A CEO but for those that may not know him, he is a metabolic scientist who researches the link between insulin resistance and nearly every chronic disease. The reception that we got from our first episode was incredible. The comment section was filled with comments like “It’s taken me at least 6 hours to watch this. I keep backing up to take notes” and over 6 million of you watched that conversation. Last time, we covered the links between insulin, heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer’s but this conversation is DIFFERENT. We explored the importance of controlling insulin to lose weight, why most New Year's diet resolutions fail and so much more… He addressed things like: - The REAL truth about the Keto diet… - Why too much insulin is making you sick? - His opinion about calorie counting (that you should hear!) - How ___ will strip fat faster than anything. I haven’t heard insulin resistance explained this well before - It goes to show you that there are a lot of talented people out there on this planet, but in all honesty not everyone can TEACH brilliance to enlighten others like this. Let me know your thoughts after watching. Tell me what stood out most to you!
