First, there is no way Ocean Beach will draw people in the winter months to walk on an ice-and-snow covered boardwalk except to sue the city of New London when they slip and fall! Secondly, the only traffic control lights are at Ocean and Niles Hill, and Montauk at Mitchell College and there are none on Pequot at all, which has for decades caused gridlock traffic during the hot days of summer.
Third, it is delusional to believe that as an entertainment venue with concerts and such, Ocean Beach Park could ever compete with the casinos. Fourth, as for a food and restaurant destination, again the casinos and all the local food venues will definitely trump any efforts to establish Ocean Beach as a dining destination, that is, unless there are discount coupons or free food offered. Not even a Ruth's Chris or Red Lobster restaurant could entice enough customers to be a long-term success. Finally, think as an adult: The only reason people flock to Ocean Beach Park is for its sands on hot days. Ocean Beach Park will never be more than what it has always been, a great beach!
