Localist party Hong Kong Indigenous’ Edward Leung said on Sunday night that a black car had been following him for a month. He uploaded a video on Facebook showing him speaking to two men in the car.
When asked where they came from, the two men in the car said “grandpa,” a slang term used for the central government or the Communist Party. When asked which department, one said “a newspaper.”
One of the men said “I have never harassed you,” and “[we’re] about to leave.” He also said “I don’t want to know about you. Someone wants to know about you – I don’t want to know.”
“If I see you again, I will call the police, said Leung.
According to a document Leung posted online, the car belongs to Dah Chong Hong (Motor Service Centre) Limited, which sells and rents vehicles.
The document showed that the car was first registered on June 30.
Leung was one of the candidates disqualified from running in the Legislative Council elections this September. He declared during the nomination period that he did not support Hong Kong independence anymore, but the returning officer did not accept that he had genuinely changed his stance.
Hong Kong Indigenous said it will file for judicial review and also lodge an election petition over the disqualification.
