Best Rx 9070 XT model
Hello Subreddit, I'm new to the Radeon world so I wanted to know your thoughts on this. This month I want to buy a Rx 9070 XT model for my new PC. But I don't know which model should I buy. Right know the only ones available are the "Sapphire" ones. But I don't If it might be worth it to wait a little bit, pay an extra 100€ and buy the Asus OC ones. I know that I could overclock myself the GPU but I don't think I'm capable of doing and I'm pretty sure that I will blow it up. Do you guys is worth the OC ones? Does someone know like the impact in FPS between both models? Or does someone know a website where I could find this information?
Thank you for reading until here, I'm not a native English speaker so I hope you understand everything that I've written :)
AvoidAsus , their warranty support is abismal. If you want MSRP target XFX SWIFT, Powercolor Reaper, Sapphire Pulse . Bit better models are powercolor hellhound, xfx quicksilver and top notch are xfx mercury, sapphire nitro+ and powercolor red devil. All of these cards are great, just the best priced and looking one for yourself - cant go wrong with these 3 manufacturers. Also if you are in EU check warranty (xfx offers 3 years but on quick and merc models only) while sapphire and powercolor offer 2 years.
Asrock and Acer seem pretty solid aswell
If you’re in the EU there is absolutely no reason to avoid Asus. We have consumer protection laws.
Most of them have terrible warranty services.
XFX lacks when it comes to quality control and fan/temperature issues. Also, they are the loudest by far out of the box (I own XFX, never again). Go for Sapphire or Powercolor!
Same experience with 6750xt XFX Core Gaming 3fan, coil whine as hell. I sent it back, and got a Sapphire 7700xt 3 fan, no coil whine at all. I know, different model, but still.
Sapphire 1:0 XFX
I think Sapphire is more expensive, but has better quality control?
Maybe more expensive XFX GPUs are better, but don't fall for the cheap ones :/
I've been thinking of upgrading my gpu. I'm not understanding the difference between lets say a XFX swift and XFX mercury. Could you explain what difference there is? is it just cooling performance.
In reviews it says The Swift is very loud, got the pulse.
It really depends, but I think Hellhound and Aorus Elite are two best mid tier 9070xt for sure. I actually bought the Hellhound myself.
The Aorus Elite is the top model from Gigabyte with 3100 MHz Boost.
9070 xt Aorus elite has annoying fan stop sound its very bad if you want to use the gpu for long term
Aorus is their top tier card. Gaming OC would be the mid-tier one.
So, what is sapphire rx 9070 xt PULSE, I know that ''pulse'' is directly beneath the nitro+ by perf and by shit put up, good ''shit' ekhm that is
The Arolus Elite has one big flaw. It doesnt have ptm 7950, so your gonna need to change the heat paste as often as with cpu.
I managed to buy a Nitro+, a pulse and a Gigabyte OC. After few days looking at them I installed the pulse and took back to the shop the other two. I decided for the pulse just because it was cheaper and my PSU only has 2 pcie connectors so not willing to upgrade PSU just to install a more expensive same performance GPU.
Why would you buy that many gpus at the same time?
No wonder there is a shortage for people like you, and the stores have to account a bigger amount of expenses due to returns. The reason you give you could have figured out before buying the cards. Simply ridiculous.
What if I told you I had bought another two same cards minutes before and these were both cancelled by the shop and then they raised their prices 25% more?
Moreover, one shop wanted to charge me +60€ for the return as "administrative fee" so stop defending shops which sometimes are as shitty as scalpers. In the end I sold 1 GPU to a nearby gamer for same price I bought.
I just bought some more to make sure at least I got 1 GPU at home.
Consumers are not the problem with GPUS we are just suffering a shitty marketing strategy from manufacturers and that's all you got to know.
Anybody complaining about Coil whine? It seems to be a common con/complaint with regards to the 9070 XT? It’s actually not Fan related from a mechanical standpoint. The whine/noise is actually the air that the fans are pushing through the fins of the heatsink. It’s called resistance and it is actually normal to have a whine effect as the back pressure from the tight fin tolerances creates pressure on the fan and creates a whine. The Sapphire Nitro for instance has quick connects to remove the fans for replacement purposes. If you were to remove the fans from the GPU and do a stand alone power test without the resistance of a fin type heatsink guess what? The fans will sound like fans or what the perception of what a fan should sound like. The Adding of air resistance/restriction caused from the heat sink fins to the fans will create a whine.
ONE OF THR BIGGEDT LOADS OFF BS I HAVE VER READ
The cheapest ones at whenever you are at with the assumption that the fancier models like the nitro+ and red devil are at least 10-20% more expensive.
So what model you would recommend? Buy a OC one? Or maybe a specific brand and model?
Whichever MSRP base model that is cheapest in your country like the sapphire pulse, Powercolor reaper, you'd get the idea. From a strict performance and value for money pov, OC cards are almost never worth the markup since you can just undervolt them yourself if you'd really need.
I personally use a red devil 9070xt, cancelled my earlier reaper order only because of my irrational need for a GPU to fill up the entire PC case + ARGB. And the red devil was less than 10% more expensive than the reaper for me and still cheaper than the base gigabyte or Asus 9070xt.
From my perspective, it’s taichi.
So if you had to pick between Hellhound or Taichi you'd pick the Taichi? I'm just debating on the two and I'm not super familiar with Radeon
Taichi is higher tier cooler on par with nitro +, red devil and mercury
