Yeah... no...
A few years ago, when the first movie came out, I used to live in a city area, there was a theater nearby, very easy to get to, and the movie just came out. The hype was unreal and I went to go see it. It was amazing, the cameos were great, the interactions with other fans were great, the living tombstones was in it aswell, just phenomenal. The movie itself honestly wasn't all that great, a lot of boring and uninteresting non-FNAF related scenes. But I enjoyed it, the entire film felt like a tribute to a franchise I loved so much for so long. I could not wait for the second movie to drop.
I now live in a more rural area, theater harder to get to. My mother has now seen the movie, she says she doesn't understand why I enjoyed it so much, she found it boring. There's basically next to no real hype for the second movie on YouTube and the trailer is the most boring thing ever. I'm looking at FNAF now and I've come to the conclusion that I just don't really think I can like FNAF anymore, it went from being a niche underground thing to mainstream normie kiddie slop that's not even taken seriously anymore. Overly merchandised now and now has it's own line of shitty movies for kids.
There used to be a time where FNAF was genuinely really good, like it was trending on YouTube and it wasn't mainstream, there were a ton of fan theories etc, but now it's just slop for gay redditors and tiktok kids and whatever. I cannot justify getting myself back out into the real world to see such a movie that I just know is going to be subpar. The only highlight of it is going to be maybe some youtuber cameos and the living tombstones song at the end as per usual.
One time was honestly enough but I think after they did it the first time, the thrill has worn off completely, and the style that they're doing it in leaves a lot to be desired. With all this being said, if they made an honest to god FNAF movie that took itself seriously, that had some genuine serious threat, that was less kid friendly and more gorey and the main character genuinely almost dies several times, I would go see it. I wanna see a sister location movie, that would honestly be pretty peak, with mike getting scooped at the end.
