I'm infatuated with Psikyo STG's. IMO they're the best out there as far as flow goes, and this statement takes into account all which Cave, Taoplan and Raizing have made.

*There is no input lag on the PC ports*

That said, some improvement could be made regarding display settings (they don't save between sessions), and other general QoL features on the PC.

Keep'em coming!

As the title suggests, this is the sequel to Psikyo's lighthearted bullet hell shooter "Gunbird" which features a cast of mostly new characters (the main hero, Marion, is the only holdover), a new storyline (trying to find a magic cure-all potion and keeping it away from the clumsy pirate trio) and more.
Like the original, this is a virtually arcade-perfect port of the game, with the only changes being a remixed soundtrack (the original is missing though) and the addition of a "2P Story Mode" that allows a single player to play with two characters alternating when lives are lost, which also mixes up the story cutscenes and offers more replay value. This one also includes the Score Attack mode with online leaderboards and multiple difficulty levels. The only tweak that needs to be made is the addition of an "Exit" option on the main menu, currently you have to press ALT+F4 on the keyboard to exit (a few other of these games have the same issue).
Unless you wish the original soundtrack was present, there's really nothing to complain about here-City Connection has done another great job of porting Psikyo arcade titles to Steam and there are more to come. This is another one that is worth buying, and can also be enjoyed without having to play the original first. Also this is MUCH better than the subpar mobile version. Buy this and help the developer/publisher keep the Psikyo games coming!

GUNBIRD 2 is a pretty acceptable sequel for my taste and in my opinion!

Slight improvements, new characters on some platforms at the time and of course... The soundtrack is exceptional!

If you're a Tohou fan and liked GUNBIRD 1... It's impossible for you not to like 2

The only thing I suggest is that you buy the game when it's on sale, because it's a bit expensive!

GUNBIRD 2 + Absolute fun = MAGIC ✨

For me, this is still the best game Psykio ever worked on. Gunbird 1 was already a masterpiece imo, but 2 managed to top even that. Everything from the characters and their story's to the core gameplay is just top notch.

Btw, all of the Psykio shmups work great on Steam Deck even if it says unknown compability.

It's a good game. This port is very bare-bones, but the core game is fun. Input latency is acceptable if you turn off vsync. Online leaderboards are a nice feature.

Loved it.

the story was fun and you can pick different endings!

this is also 1 of the few shoot'em ups I've seen with some melee attacks, which is nice and can make combat interesting!

This game is a mechanical improvement on the first game, though it is more difficult. Frankly, I'm not sure that I'll ever beat this one on Score Attack.

Just love these arcade shoot'emups.

Psikyo games have that unmistakable Japanese flavour and zaniness while being backed up by serious game design.

Gunbird 2 is no exception and is a must have for any fan of arcade shooters, Japanese pop culture and good gameplay.

City Connection are a developer that has my respect as it seems every arcade to PC conversion they handle is always good quality.

A great game and an easy recommendation
