宇賀弁護士は1994年より25年間、東京大学大学院法学政治学研究科の教授として行政法の研究と教育に携わり、2019年から2025年まで最高裁判所判事を務めました。行政法分野における通則法律の制定・改正にも深く関与するほか、消費者安全調査委員会の設置にも尽力し、個人情報保護法の研究者としても第一人者であり、日本の法制度の発展に大きく貢献しています。

Dr. Uga served as a professor at the Graduate Schools for Law and Politics, the University of Tokyo, for 25 years beginning in 1994, where he specialized in administrative law as both a researcher and educator. From 2019 to 2025, he served as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Japan. In addition to his significant involvement in the drafting and amendment of general laws in the field of administrative law, he played a key role in establishing Japan’s Consumer Safety Investigation Commission. Dr. Uga is widely recognized as a preeminent authority on personal information protection law in Japan and has made substantial contributions to the development of the country’s legal system.
