      Very cool information game, in the vein of The Return of Obra Dinn.

      Puzzles aren't as clever IMO, but there are a few pretty fun twists. Everything can be figured out with some focused thinking, no guesswork required. Story is pretty solid too.

      I disliked the UI. The interface where you have to fill in the proof you understood what happened is super fiddly. I didn't fully love the graphics style either.

      Recommended if you like narrative information-style games.

      Genuinely STUNNING game. At first the game play can be tedious, but it's actually an amazing mechanic to have the story so painfully obscured. It makes some great lore reveals pay off at the end of the game. I am a huge fan of point and click detective mysteries and Golden Idol is maybe one of the best examples of "letting the player actually figure out what happened." 11/10: would recommend if you like fine detail clue hunting, political intrigue, and logic puzzles

      Wow. I was first appaled by the visuals but the gameplay is really interesting - nice detective puzzles. The game works because the story behind it is really cool and captivating. And visuals - they actually work well, creating an appropriate atmosphere, Totally recommended.
