irankarapte-Ainu Culture from Upopoy
Upopoy: National Ainu Museum and Park, which opened in 2020, is a national center for learning and communicating the history and culture of the Ainu people, and will serve as a symbol of a society where people respect and live in harmony with each other, while passing on and sharing various aspects of Ainu culture cultivated over a long history and through nature. It is a space equipped with the necessary functions to serve as a symbol of a society where people can live together in mutual respect and harmony, and where people of all ages can learn about the Ainu view of the world and nature, both domestically and internationally. Through the display of Ainu crafts as well as the introduction of Upopoi, this exhibition will not only inform visitors about the activities of the Ainu people to pass on their traditional culture, but also help them understand the artistic nature of Ainu culture and the cultural diversity of our country.

The ‘Eshi 100 - Contemporary Japanese Illustration’ is an exhibition featuring works created especially for the event by popular artists who are active at the forefront of Japan’s pop culture. This popular exhibition, which has a large number of fans in Japan and abroad, will be presented as a special part of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. This time, we will look back the history of the ‘Eshi 100 - Contemporary Japanese Illustration,’ which has been held annually since 2011, and hold the special exhibition by the theme of ‘very Japanese.’

Under the concept of “Connecting”, more than 14 divisions of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the National Tax Agency, and the Agency for Cultural Affairs will hold exhibitions to promote the attractiveness of Japan's food, agriculture, forestry, and fishery industries. Recycling of old corrugated cardboard.Our goal is to expand organic farming by increasing the use of eco-friendly and weed-suppressive materials.
We manufacture paper-mulch by recycling “Old Corrugated Cardboard” (hereinafter called "OCC"). It is eco-friendly and weed-suppressive products, because it is made from household OCC. Additionally, Paper-mulch is decomposed by microorganisms underneath the soil, it means no need to collect the mulch. Our goal is to expand organic farming by increasing the use of paper-mulch. Through our business, we can contribute to “Healthy Food” and “Reducing the Environmental Impact”. In this expo, we hope more people will be interested in organic farming for “Sustainable and People-friendly, Eco-friendly Agriculture”.

Circular New Sixth Industry Challenge
We propose a "Circular New Sixth Industry" as a solution to social issues such as "food crisis" and "environmental challenges in food production," which fall under the theme of "The Future of Food and Living" at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. The conventional sixth industry integrates the flow from upstream to downstream by combining production in the primary industries (agriculture, forestry, and fisheries) with manufacturing and processing (secondary industries) and sales and distribution (tertiary industries) to create new added value. In contrast, the Circular New Sixth Industry is characterized by the co-creation of secondary and tertiary industry companies with primary industries to achieve food production closer to the consumption sites. Producing food closer to consumption sites reduces transportation costs and environmental impact while improving the freshness and stability of food supply. This strengthens the local production for local consumption approach, ensures a stable supply of food within regions, mitigates the impact of vulnerabilities in international supply chains and price fluctuations, and contributes to solving food crises. Moreover, through resource matching between industries, waste and by-products are reused as resources for each other, aiming to maximize the use of regional resources and reduce environmental impact. Our company has initiated small-scale experiments in circular agriculture as a step toward realizing the Circular New Sixth Industry. Through these efforts, we aim to contribute to the establishment of a sustainable regional circulation system by eventually achieving environmentally friendly food production near areas where a large amount of food is consumed.

Spherical Weeding Robots at Work in Rice Terraces, an Original Japanese Landscape
We will share with visitors the “attraction of rice terraces” and the “multifaceted functions of agriculture and farming villages,” which are the original landscape of Japan, and think together about the connection between food and agriculture, nature and life. In addition, we will convey the challenges of agriculture in the mid-mountainous areas and introduce our spherical weeding robot that will be used in rice terraces as a first step toward “Smart Agriculture” (Future Farming) and one of the solutions. We will continue to further communicate our vision for the future of agriculture by deepening our connections with the people at the Expo site.
