There is one episode which revives in my mind on August 6th, the day atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, every year.

It is a real story of two children and their mother on the day.

They were in their house in Hiroshima when the atomic bobm blasted above Hiroshima.

Their house was destroyed instantly by the atomic blast.  The mother and her little two children were under the debris when they noticed.

Under the debris of the destroyed house, they could manage to survuve. And the little chldren, a girl and boy, could manage to come out of the debris of their house after a while.

The two children cried and looked for their mother in the destroyed house. Then they heard the voice of their mother who responded to their cry.

The two children approached to the voice. And they could reach their mother in the destroyed house. However, their mother was under heavy debris. She could not move under the debris and could not come out of her place under the debris.

The children could not save her. The debris was too heavy and the little girl and boy could not do anything in front of their mother under the debris. All they could do was just to cry in front of their mother under the debris.

Then fire approached to them. Fire by the atomic blast was spreading around their house and it began to enter their house.

The mother told their little children to run away from the place. But the little children cried more and they refused their mother's order. They could not run away leaving their mother in fire.

However, when the fire really reached the place, the two children left the place at last, leaving their living mother in fire....

News tells us that the average age of the survivors of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki reached 85 years old now.

Hearing the news, I wondered if the two children, who had to leave their mother in fire, are among them. And I wondered what kind of lives they have lived in the past 78 years.
