A fictioromantic ace looking for acceptance?

As the title says, I'm asexual and exclusively fictioromantic (fiction romantic/into fictional characters). I was hoping to find others like me, and have seen some interesting threads here from Google search results that made me feel like I wanted to join in on the discussion, too. I'm not comfortable sharing my sex/gender/age online, but my entire life has revolved around Umineko no Naku Koro ni for quite some time now and I've had feelings for a boy from that series for about 2 years now. I guess that's all I have to say for now...

Hi and welcome! ^-^ I'm always happy to find other people who fall in love with fictional characters. Even though this is not always easy and I do fall in love with real people too, this is such an important part of me.

(I have never watched Umineko, even though I have been meaning to do so for years. Shame on me!)

I feel really lucky to have found someone else who likes characters so quickly, wow! I was sure I'd get a few laughing people first....

Umineko is such a wonderful series, honestly. I've watched (and bought) the anime, purchased the visual novels and read through them, then bought the Steam release and read that, and I've got plans to read the manga fairly soon. Feel free to message me with your favorite series or thoughts on Umineko!

I'm pretty sure no one will laugh at you here. :)

I can't wait to watch it then! (but I already have so many things to do!) Okay, thank you. ^-^ I'm a bit shy though so it might take time, haha.

I only loved fictional characters for some time when I was younger. (Specifically Kenshin and Edward Elric, haaa.) It was very intense at the time! So I can sympathise. I diiid eventually get romantic feelings for people around me, but I have definitely retained having a quirky taste. ;) welcome!

I definitely would say I'm fictoromantic as well but I just don't ever feel like explaining it to others so I don't even bother lol. BUT yeah I'm married (in my head) to like 20 characters. I'm even sexually attracted to a few.

I'm also attracted to actual people but that's rare. I'm heteromantic/biromantic-curious and demisexual/gray-ace.

Welcome though and I hope you have a good time here! Feel free to message anyone with question.

Hi and welcome! I'm not exclusively fictioromantic (I think panromantic describes me best, but life is confusing), but I have certainly had crushes/romantic fantasies with purely fictional characters, especially from anime or web comics or cartoon drawings. I'm certain you'll find a lot of people on this site that think a lot like you do!

Really? oO They would lock me way forever and a day if I would start telling facts about my private life or relationship in public. I've only met one other ficto ace so far. Fair enough I guess.
